MEMBERSHIP DRIVE – The Greene County Women’s League Cancer Patient Aid is holding a membership drive at their regular monthly meeting at Ambrosia Diner in Catskill at 12 noon.  Lunch at 12:00 noon, meeting is called to order at 1:00 pm.  Yearly dues are $25.00.  GCWL is a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide cancer patients with assistance in paying medical expenses. 100% of our donations go to patient care.  For more info call 518-819-1249 or visit; find us on FACEBOOK or mail us at P.O. The Catskill Glee Club’s annual Spring Concert: “Brothers, Sing On!” at the First Reformed Church, 310 Main St., Catskill at 7:30 p.m.  The 25-voice all male chorus will be directed by Michael Wright.  The guest artist is the Chris Pasin Quintet who will perform two sets during the concert. FREE MOVIE NIGHT at the Heermance Memorial Library, 1 Ely Street, Coxsackie at 6:30 – 8:30 PM. May’s selection is “Julie & Julia” starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. If you read the book first you can participate in the post-movie discussion. Free popcorn. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by The Friends of the Heermance Memorial Library. Saturday, May 19

“SCHOLARSHIP BREAKFAST” – Sponsored by the The Catskill Rotary Club from 8:30 am – 11:30 am at the Catskill Senior High School’s cafeteria.  The event will benefit The Catskill Community Center’s Youth Program.  The Catskill Rotary’s high school Interact Club will assist with the breakfast.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors 65+, with kids under 6 eating free.  Eggs, pancakes, sausages, coffee or juice are included.  Visit the Catskill Rotary Club on Face Book or call Bob Gaus at 845-389-1503.

COXSACKIE-ATHENS COMMUNITY BAND will perform at Gallagher’s Banquet House, Main Street in Cairo, starting at 2pm. Free will offering to benefit the Cairo Historical Society. The band’s programs include marches, classical selections, Broadway selections, jazz arrangements, folk music, popular tunes, etc.

5th Annual Joe Maurer Memorial Youth Fishing Derby for youths 16 years and under at Maurer’s Pond on Webber Road in Earlton, sponsored by the Earlton Fish and Game Club. Registration begins at 10 am with fishing from 11 to 1. Prizes will be awarded when fishing ends. Food and beverages available for all contestants. Youths should be accompanied by an adult.
